The S.C. Research Authority says it’s accepted two Charleston companies into its S.C. Launch startup program.
The new startups include Movi Healthcare, a startup angling to make medical transport more efficient, and ML PlanEx, a French company making supply chain management software. Movi is a subsidiary of SIB, a Charleston-based consultancy, and ML PlanEx registered as a corporation in December.
Joining the program as a client firm doesn’t mean the companies will necessarily receive funding from S.C. Launch, but it does mean they’ll be eligible for an investment, typically a $250,000 convertible loan. Across the state, 170 companies have been accepted into the program.
